Here’s the thing about Colorado… The weather is UNPREDICTABLE, but I’ve found this often makes for some of the best images and light. I’m always open to the serendipity that this beautiful state provides. While some find it stressful, I like the challenge of being able to adapt to different circumstances and being rewarded for it. Our last styled shoot is the perfect example of this. The weather wasn’t the greatest. It was cold, rainy and overcast- but everything worked. We had a kick ass team of vendors who got stuff done and looked good doing it.
Lone Hawk Farm is a working organic farm and an event venue nestled into the heart of Boulder County’s agricultural community. On our way to the venue we saw bison, hogs and a ton of chickens. This place is a little remote, but it’s worth the drive and it was just so damn peaceful. I mean, you could hear hawks crying in the distance just like in the movies.
Allison from Eleven Blooms provided the florals and setup the shoot and they were stunning, her work speaks for itself. She’s also the crazy lady who decided to organize this shoot in a matter of days. I’m so glad she did!
I’ve often heard that the wedding industry is tightly knit and a small world, this couldn’t be more true. To give a little background on this shoot, Allison was the florist for Jenn’s Anna Rae Events styled shoot. For whom my fiancée Katelyn and I happened to be models! Little did we all know that we would become friends and do another shoot together. We even roped in Kaylin and her rental company The Borrowing Bride from the previous shoot. This time around, Jenn and her husband Zane were the models and they absolutely killed it. On to the photos!
Special thanks to my amazing Fiancée for all the help during this shoot. It was so much fun working with all the vendors during this shoot. If you’re ever looking to work with me sometime, shoot me a message!
